These days, we take things for granted and casually toss around old sayings and proverbs too freely and not actually stop to think about it and what it actually means.
How many times have you commented on something you have read in the papers or heard?
They shouldn't have done this, or he should have done that, or even she should have listened. Something along those lines. I am sure that you have thought of it or even discussed it with another person.
That's where the phrase comes in. "It's Easier Said Than Done". How hard can it be right? Doing something that you commented on. It should be a walk in the park. But think about it, have you ever been in that situation? What would have done if you were in their shoes, knowing what they did? Would you have acted the same? or differently?
Example, an overseas student is looking for accommodation and searches online. She finds a nice place and corresponds with the person online. The person asks for a deposit and an initial payment and the student pays. Student arrives in new country at the place where supposedly is to be the lodging only to find out that the student has been scammed. By now, you would be thinking, never pay something online that you are not sure of. Or, I would never have done that. True, but when you think about it, would you have acted differently if you knew what the student knew? or would you have fallen into the same trap? Not everyone is brought up to be suspicious or super cautious in whatever they do. Some people are genuinely more naive than other people. They just have not had enough experience dealing with the real world yet. Fair enough when the world is a big place and you are just a tiny person in it.
Enough. Next example, driving. What would you do if suddenly you lose control of your car and it starts to skid? What would you do? Would you slam on the brakes and hold on tight and pray that everything will be alright? or would you just freeze up and do nothing? or would you panic and let go of everything and scream your lungs out?
Thinking?
Thinking?
Come one.
What would you have done?
Now, a few of my friends reading this would say, oh come on man, its easy, just put the car into a power slide and power out from it or do a drift. And that's for the average person to do? with no training or experience whatsoever? Yeah right. An experienced person maybe, or even a professional could but the average person would probably freeze and step onto the brakes as hard as they can and pray that everything will be alright.
This brings back memories. Never should you try this anyway. Never try to take a U-turn at 160km/h. In the rain when it is pouring and everything is wet. At night. That's just plain stupid. So call me stupid then. I did just that and the result was, I spun a couple of times, right in front of a brand new 7 series BMW. And I did what anyone would have done, froze up, slammed on the brakes, and prayed hard that the car behind me wouldn't crash into me. I (Thank God) eventually came to a stop safely and managed to go along my way again. Never would I have thought I would freeze up during a spin out. I talked with my friends about what they have done and what they would have done. Counter steering and all that with proper throttle control. I never thought I would freeze up like that. It then dawned to me. I never had any proper experience or even any experience at all with this sort of situations. How was I to handle anything if if all I ever did was talk about it and never actually went through it.
It was this very moment which I then realized up till this very day that it is easier said than done (and it is still easier said than done).
The choice is yours.

Hypocrite
Definition courtesy from www.dictionary.com
It's true. Everyone (including me) is a hypocrite one way or the other. That's life. But the true question is. How long do you choose to remain one?
The choice is yours.

Back Again
Am back again, after so long. Don't know why though I abandoned my blog. Probably lots to do and less time to do it in.
Anyway, the economy worldwide is in recession (i bet you're like "DUH, Pea Brain") but I just wanted to start off with something to think about. Now that it is the period of 'recession', how does it affect people and how does people deal with it?
Now that's something to think about. Worldwide people are losing jobs. This has affected a lot of families and many people are finding it hard to make ends meet. However, some are affected more than others.
Come to think of it, the only other industry that will thrive in this recession would be the education industry and the student accommodation industry. Why? because people who unfortunately lose their jobs go back to study and further enhance their skills and overseas students needs accommodation when they travel overseas to study.
I guess now is the time to open up the 'money put aside for rainy days' just for the time being while things stabilize. So here's the question, how much have you put aside for situations like this? Governments are trying to encourage its people to spend while people are trying to save as much as possible. Kind of a conflict of interest here isn't it?
Well, if you have not kept much for times like this, no one is here to lecture you on how you should have saved or what you should have done with your money while the going was good. Rather, take this as a learning opportunity, sit back and think about how you are going to get through this and how you will prepare in case of another form of emergency.
Question is, how much of this 'recession' is really affecting you. Are you spending less on when you go out shopping? are you cutting down your trips to the beauty salon? are you spending less or during this period of time?
Shops are selling goods at cheaper prices as they need sales and stock to keep moving. Are you taking advantage of this by stocking up for things? Can you afford to?
Is it a better idea to shop now on credit while goods are cheaper and pay it back when the economy recovers or is it better to save now and buy later when you have more purchasing power?
Now that is food for thought. The choice is yours.

Iced Chocolate
Alright, listen up folks. Spring is here, and pretty soon the weather will get hotter. So here's a few 'cool' drinks that might cool you down. First up, I am going to start you off with iced chocolate.

Final Product:

Ingredients & Equipment:
1 Big tall glass
1 Long desert spoon
2 Straws
Chocolate powder
Chocolate syrup
Sugar
Ice
Vanilla Ice Cream
Whipped Cream
Cold Milk
Step 1: Take a couple of teaspoons of chocolate powder and melt it in the glass with a little bit of hot water. Stir well. (optional: you can add one or two sticks of sugar in if you want it to be sweeter)
Step 2: Add a few cubes of ice in the glass after you have finished melting the chocolate powder and stir well again.
Step 3: Line the glass with chocolate syrup.
Step 4: Top it up with cold milk (or lite milk if you prefer).
Final Product:
Note: DO NOT USE HOT MILK even though you have added in ice. Always use cold milk. Using hot milk after you have added ice would make the drink hot and defeat the purpose having an iced chocolate.

I am who I am
I am who I am.
Change is inevitable.
Changing for the better is good.
Forcing change will turn to the worse.
Caring for others should be mandatory.
Accepting who you are is important.
Accepting your loved ones and friends for who they are is even more important for without them, I wouldn't be who I am.
